Rangers fans are in for a double boost as the Ibrox club moves to land two exciting new signings this January. Tuur Rommens, the 22-year-old Belgian left-back, is set to join from Westerlo after the Scottish giants agreed a £3.5million deal for the Under-21 star.
The Belgian defender, who started his career at Genk and racked up almost 80 appearances in the Belgian Pro League, has already boarded his flight to Scotland. A medical awaits, and he’s expected to finalise his contract soon, giving Danny Rohl a vital upgrade in the left-back position for Rangers’ title charge.
Rommens was a prized asset at Westerlo, managed by former Gers assistant coach Issame Charai. Despite Charai’s attempts to hold onto him, Westerlo have reluctantly let the talented defender go. This move signals Rangers’ serious intent to push for the Premiership crown this season.
Meanwhile, Rangers are also on the verge of completing a £4million swoop for Sturm Graz midfielder Tochi Chukwuani. The Danish Under-21 international has impressed during his two seasons in Austria after moving from Lyngby. He’s reportedly just waiting for travel clearance to finalise the move to Glasgow. Technical director Dan Purdy and manager Danny Rohl have been carefully negotiating these deals, making sure Rangers land the right targets to strengthen their squad for the title run-in. After a slow start to the January window, the Ibrox faithful can finally expect some key arrivals to arrive at the club.
With Rommens and Chukwuani potentially joining the squad, Rangers are adding youth, energy, and versatility to their first team. Rohl will hope these new signings help the Gers maintain momentum as they chase another Premiership triumph.
The January window is heating up at Ibrox, and supporters will be watching closely as these deals are finalised, hoping for a boost that could make all the difference in the title race.
