Rangers Reject £13m Fenerbahce Raid for Youssef Chermiti

RANGERS have dealt a major blow to Fenerbahce’s transfer plans after rejecting a £13 million (€15m) bid for striker Youssef Chermiti, with the Ibrox board declaring the Portuguese frontman “not for sale” this month.

The offer, which arrived last week from the Turkish giants, would have represented a significant and immediate profit on the 21-year-old, who arrived from Everton just six months ago in a deal worth approximately £8 million.

The ‘Not For Sale’ Stance

Despite a statistically modest start to life in Glasgow—netting four goals in 16 Premiership appearances—Danny Rohl and the Rangers hierarchy are reportedly in total agreement that Chermiti is essential to their title ambitions.

The decision to reject the bid highlights the club’s strengthened financial resolve following their recent US-based investment. Rather than cashing in on a prospect whose value is trending upward, Rangers are choosing to prioritise continuity as they aim to overhaul Hearts and Celtic at the top of the table.

Winning Over the Ibrox Faithful

Chermiti’s journey at Ibrox began under a cloud of scepticism, with some fans questioning the record-breaking fee paid to Everton in the summer. However, the narrative shifted dramatically following his **match-winning brace against Celtic at Parkhead on January 3rd.

That performance cemented his place as a fan favourite and proved to the management team that the Portugal U21 international has the “big game” temperament required for the business end of the season. He is currently often preferred to Bojan Miovski in Rohl’s starting XI due to his superior aerial presence and defensive contributions.

January Incomings: Naderi in the Wings?

The rejection of the Fenerbahce bid does not mean Rangers are finished in the market. @RangersReview55 understands that the club is actively pushing to add to their striking department rather than deplete it.

Talks are ongoing for Hansa Rostock forward Ryan Naderi, with a £2.6m bid currently on the table. Rohl is keen to pair Chermiti with the physical German attacker to provide a “Plan B” as the title race enters the final straight.

Gers fans—is £13m too good to turn down for a striker with 4 goals, or is keeping Chermiti the statement of intent we need to win the league? Let us know in the comments!
