Rangers Step Up Interest in Dundee Star Luke Graham as Technical Director Leads Scouting Mission

Rangers have intensified their pursuit of Dundee’s standout defender Luke Graham, with the club’s technical director personally leading the charge to assess the young Scot.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Ibrox chief Dan Purdy was in attendance at Dens Park this past Saturday. Purdy was there to run the rule over the 22-year-old during Dundee’s 2-2 draw with Livingston, signalling a significant step up in the club’s interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

A Rising Star at Dens Park

Graham has enjoyed a spectacular breakthrough season under Steven Pressley. After honing his craft through loan spells at Albion Rovers, Montrose, and Falkirk, the left-footed centre-half has become an indispensable part of the Dark Blues’ backline, making 30 appearances and scoring twice this term.

His form has not gone unnoticed elsewhere. The Scotland Under-21 international was the subject of a £1 million bid from Portsmouth in January—which Dundee promptly rejected—while Celtic and Aberdeen are also believed to be monitoring his progress closely.

Why Rangers are Moving Now

The interest from Govan comes at a time of defensive uncertainty for manager Danny Rohl. With John Souttar yet to agree on a new contract and Nasser Djiga set to return to Wolves following his loan spell, Graham is seen as a high-potential domestic solution to refresh the Rangers defensive ranks.

Dundee are reportedly keen to tie Graham down to an improved contract, with his current deal running until 2027. However, with heavyweights from both sides of the border circling, the Dees face a fight to keep hold of their academy graduate come July.

🗣️ WOULD GRAHAM FIT AT IBROX?

With a seven-figure price tag likely, we want to know what the fans think:

  • Is Luke Graham the best young defender in the Premiership right now?
  • Should Rangers break the bank to beat Celtic to his signature?
